Another one for Clarence 447

Following on from the emergency Advancement in February, Clarence Mark met on 4th March to conduct another Advancement at their regular meeting. An excellent turn out witnessed Bro Dean Marsh being Advanced under the watchful eye of W Bro Eric Drinkwater PGSO, the RW PGM Special Representative.

The WM, Bro John Gibbon PPrGSD, opened the meeting and offered the opportunity to W Bro Alan Lowe PPrGJW to conduct the Advancement. It was said that Alan had never moved so swiftly into any chair!

With RW Bro Peter Connolly PGMO, PPrGM acting as Chaplain, and W Bro Ian Rowan having been invited to act as SD, the ceremony went without a hitch. Exactly what was expected from this “professional” team. The Advancement culminated in W Bro Steve McNee PrGJO presenting Dean with a personal letter from the RW PGM welcoming him into the order, inviting him to attend the Provincial Grand Lodge on 2nd May and offering him a once in a lifetime discount voucher on his lunch in Blackpool.

After the Advancement, John resumed his rightful place and then proceeded with the rest of the business. This included the election of a WM for next year, with only one, very eager (?) individual being nominated.
The following festive board was enjoyed by all and included a comment from Dean that it was good to participate in the Advancement, rather than “having it done” to him. He is already seeking another lodge to attend to see just what he went through.
